The final day of group play brought us the first draw of the competition, which made sure that the USA qualified to the quarterfinals as the winner of Group B. Two more teams are certain of the quarterfinals, both Brazil and England won thier second matches in the group. USA are at the brink of qualifying, a draw against Ireland on Friday will be enough to see them trough to the last eight of the 2019 IFCPF World Cup. Iran had to fight back from 1-0 behind to get their first win of the tournament.  

The conclusion of the group stage for Group C and D brought Ukraine and Russia, the finallists of the 2018 European Championships, as group winners. The Monday excitement, where USA beat Iran in a coming-from-behind match, had just been processed, when Tuesday kicked off with the first matches of the second round of Group play. So far it hasn't been the tournament for the away playing teams. All the teams playing at 'home' have won without conceding a goal. On Sunday Ukraine managed to score seven against a well organizef Australia. Russia beat Thailand 6-0 and the Netherlands als got in their first win against Canada: 3-0.  

Hosts Spain have not been able to highlight the start of the 2019 IFCPF World Cup in their own country. Against world nr. 5 Argentina the Spanish team suffered a 7-0 defeat. With the opening match between Argentina and hosts Spain this Saturday rapidly approaching, things are heating up. Teams have arrived in Seville, where classification will start on Tuesday afternoon.
