Ireland - USA

Play today opened with Ireland and the United States battling for fifth place. From the start, Ireland dominated the game with their good positioning and ball sense. Tournament leading scorer Dillon Sherindan opened scoring with a goal for Ireland in the eighth minute. He then scored a second in the 24th minute. The Irish and Americans then traded own goals for the half to finish 3 โ€“ 1.

The second half was a repeat of the first, with the Irish getting control of the ball, bringing it back to their half and then charging ahead towards the goal face. The United States was able to largely defend this because of leadership from their goalkeeper, Alex Hendricks. Both sides struggled for some control in this half with each team getting a pair of yellow cards. In the final minute, Tomiwa Badun scored for Ireland and the game finished 4 โ€“ 1.
