Updated World Rankings
NewsConcluding a very busy year of tournaments, we are pleased to share the updated IFCPF World Rankings. It is fantastic to see the continued growth of our sport with more countries starting CP Football programmes, and those progressing to new levels of participation at regional championships.
2024 presents a fantastic opportunity to see even more nations competing at the highest level, where we aim to surpass the 23 teams at the world level in 2022. The IFCPF Governing Board wish to congratulate all IFCPF members, teams and players for their performances throughout 2023 and looks forward to seeing more of your inspirational achievements in 2024.
Points of interest
- Our overall number of countries with programmes for CP Football players has now risen to 93 countries.
- Qualification for the 2024 IFCPF World Cup (Men's & Women's) and 2024 World Championships is determined by performances in the 2023 regional championships and the IFCPF World Rankings.
- Qualification criteria are available in the downloads section on the right-hand side of this page.
- The World Rankings are still impacted heavily by the COVID-19 pandemic, however, after two years of competition we are starting to see a more reflective rankings current to our game.
Men's key changes
Mainly there were minimal changes across the rankings with teams' consistent performances, and small steps up and down in the list. However, there were a few notable changes to build the excitement leading into 2024.
- The USA maintain 4th position after a strong performance to finish 3rd in the Para PanAm.
- Spain jumped from 12th to 9th as a result of clinching 3rd place in the European Championships.
- Chile edges closer to the top 16 as they continue to compete at the highest level.
- India's first appearance at a regional championship rewards them with a jump of 14 places to 22 in the world.
Women's key changes
- Australia and Japan are rewarded for their international performances in 2023, sitting at the top of the World Rankings.
- Spain, Netherlands and Denmark maintained their ongoing development and international participation this year.
- Ireland stepped up with their first international tournament this year.
- Nepal competed in friendly matches with the top two teams in the world to jump straight into 9th position in the World Rankings.
2024 World Cup (Men's) Qualification

2024 World Championships (Men's) Qualification
Congratulations to the following countries who qualify for the 2024 IFCPF World Championships to be held in Salou, Spain in April 2024.
NOTE: In addition to the four (4) qualified countries below, all remaining places are open for entry to IFCPF member countries.
Remaining places will be awarded to the highest ranked countries from the IFCPF World Rankings List as of 31st December 2023, not otherwise qualified.
