Russia and Ukraine will play the 2019 IFCPF World Cup final

With two 3-0 matches the finallists of the 2019 IFCPF World Cup were clear on Tuesday evening. Both Russia and Ukraine set aside their opponents with three goals. For England and Brazil remains the match for bronze, Russia and Ukraine will take to court on Friday 21.00 CEST to decide who will be crowned as World Cup winners.

Russia were off to the best start, scoring twice in the first fifteen minutes of the match. England didn't give up, for most part of the second half they were on attack. They came close to scoring several times, but in the last minute of the official time it was Marat Eloev that set the final score to 3-0. 

Ukraine in fourth consecutive world final

By beating Brazil in the semifinal, Ukraine have qualified for their fourth world competition final in a row. They were in the 2013 CPISRA Intercontinental Cup final, where they won the gold. Two years later they lost the final of the 2015 IFCPF CP Football World Championships to Russia. Two years ago they became world cahmpions by beating Iran in the final. In the meantime Ukraine also won the 2014 European Championships and were runners-up in the 2018 version, losing to Russia in the final.


In an exciting match, Ukraine quickly were leading 1-0. Brazil went looking for the equalizer but the stiff defense of Ukraine didn't give any chances away. In the second half, Ukraine doubled the margin. Brazil insisted but ran into a counter attack in the final minutes of the game. Final score 3-0.

USA and Iran play for 5th

In the matches played for the places 5 to 16 the United States and Iran clearly got the better of their opponents. USA beat Argentina 6-0 as Iran had the same score against the Netherlands. 


Germany and Ireland will meet for 9th place. Germany beat Australia 2-1 in a very close match, Ireland outplayed Canada 3-1. For further info on these matches, check here.


Thailand and Japan will play for 13th spot and hosts Spain and Finland will decide who becomes 15th. Play for the places 9-16 resumes on Thursday, the finals for the places 1-8 will take place on Friday.
