Ireland - Ukraine

In a game where both teams had already qualified for the semi-finals and only the group win was at stake, both coaches did not want to take too many risks with their players. Both Ukraine and Ireland therefore did not start with their strongest line-up. Still, it was clear that Ukraine had the best of the game, but the Irish defended stubbornly. They kept the score limited for a long time. After the 1 โ€“ 0 score, it took until the last minute of the first half and injury time before Ukraine could further increase the score to 3 โ€“ 0. Ukraine was also much stronger in the second half. Both teams scored several more times to make the final score 2-6.
