Argentina - Ireland

Argentina and Ireland for the 7th and 8th positions. With a very quick goal, in the 3rd minute, Argentina gave the impression that would win the match with no problem. But, after it, Ireland had the total control of the match, making a huge pressure to get the tie. But the Argentinians supported well and the first half finished with their advantage. Ireland came back to the second half with much more pressure, and got the situation easier with the red card received by number 10 Nicolas Billordio. With one player less, Argentina could not defend in a proper way, and could not avoid Ireland to score four goals and control the match up to the final whistle. With this result, Ireland finished in the 7th position in the World Cup. Argentina finished 8th.
