Classy Scotland take care of Spain

Scotland beat Spain 5-0 in the opening game in Group A. In truth the scoreline flattered Spain as Scotland missed a hatful of chances throughout the game. Scotland played an attacking brand of one and two touch football with debutant Sean Stewart giving them the lead in the 5th minute. They took a 2-0 lead into the interval. In the second half they introduced Kyle Hannin and youngster Blair McGregor. Both players got on the scoresheet as Scotland continued to dominate the second half.

Spain offered little in attack but probably had one eye on tomorrow's encounter with Australia which is likely to see the winner of that game into the quarter final.
