Japan make it 2 wins from 2 games

Japan beat Denmark 2-1 in a tense encounter with a 58th minute winner from Taisei Taniguchi. This result has all but ended Denmark's chances of making the last eight. The final scoreline was tough on Denmark who dominated the game for long periods but were frustrated by a strong Japanese defense who played counter attacking football.

Japan's young side were well drilled by coach Sotaro and well marshalled by centre back Tetsuya Toda .Both Japan's goals came from counter attacks following lapses in the Danish midfield. The result means that Japan have reached the quarter-finals unless Finland can beat Canada by a large margin in final game of day 2.
