World Cup fixtures to watch

The 2026 IFCPF World Cup fixtures are set. Here are three matches each from the women's and men's draws that should have you excited.

2026 IFCPF Women's World Cup

Australia v USA

This match-up has already made history, and another chapter will soon be written. The benchmark since the women’s game kicked off, the two best teams are set to rekindle their rivalry in Atlanta, with stars everywhere you look.

As the host nation, a lot of expectation surrounds the USA and its new head coach, Chris Maravalli. Having served as an assistant in 2022 when the Stars and Stripes took home the trophy, he will lead a talented group looking to get it back after falling in 2024.

Australia came from two goals down in that decider, with plenty of players pivotal in a 6-2 victory. However, despite being ranked #1 in the world, the green and gold do not maintain all the bragging rights, after the USA defeated the Aussies twice at the recent 2025 IFCPF Women’s Intercontinental Cup in England, including a resounding win in the final.

It’s going to be appointment viewing. Mark your calendars.

Ireland v The Netherlands - October 17, 12:00

A first meeting between Ireland and the Netherlands looms as an intriguing prospect, with both nations having shown real promise on the international stage previously.

Ireland were the third-best team in the 2024 edition, leaning on strong performances from the likes of Heather Jameson and Eva Walsh to help them beat Japan to the title.

The Netherlands showed signs of real improvement at the 2025 IFCPF Women’s Intercontinental Cup, racing to a commanding lead against Denmark before losing it heartbreakingly in the last minute.

Will Ireland’s return coincide with more success, or can the Dutch continue their momentum? 

Finland v Kenya - October 19, 16:00

The great unknowns in terms of teams at this Women’s World Cup, Kenya and Finland will meet as two of its debutants.

That’s not to say they have come out of nothing, with both teams having spent plenty of time together preparing for a moment like this.

Finland have players with international experience, with the likes of Minttu Kurki, Maisa Fraser and Tuuli Altonen joining forces and impressing with Denmark at the 2025 IFCPF Women’s International Cup.

When the moment comes in 2026 for both to face one another, who will take it?

2026 IFCPF Men’s World Cup

USA v Canada - October 14, 16:30

The opening game of any World Cup is special, but a rematch of a Copa América semi-final between two near neighbours featuring the host nation should have you salivating.

The USA will hit the tournament as reigning regional champions, having defeated Argentina in the final in Uruguay last year. Canada’s successful tournament ended with two defeats, with Brazil winning in the third-place playoff.

Can Canada spoil the party, or will the Stars and Stripes start the housewarming with a win?

Australia v Chile - October 18 - 15:00

In a tournament where two third-placed teams will progress, this might fly under the radar as a huge game in Group B, particularly given it forms part of the final round of group stage matches.

While the other two teams in the group in Spain and Brazil both made regional semi-finals last year, an opportunity knocks for any winner here.

In its IFCPF Men’s World Cup debut, can Chile turn heads, or will a David Barber-led Australia show up?

England v Indonesia - October 16, 10:30

Beaten finalists in their respective regions in 2025, England and Indonesia will look to put that disappointment behind them and put their best foot forward.

It’s a special moment for head coach Yanuar Dhuma and company, whose performances earned them a shot in Atlanta, while for England, hopes of winning it all will be front of mind for program legend Jack Rutter, who assumes the role in the dugout for the English.

With this being the second game for each in Group C, it could prove critical when all is said and done.
