Russia, Ukraine and the Netherlands victorious on day 2

So far it hasn't been the tournament for the away playing teams. All the teams playing at 'home' have won without conceding a goal. On Sunday Ukraine managed to score seven against a well organizef Australia. Russia beat Thailand 6-0 and the Netherlands als got in their first win against Canada: 3-0.
 

Ukraine got off to a great start in Group C of the IFCPF 2019 World Cup. The day after Argentina beat hosts Spain, the runners-up from the 2018 European Championships were faced with some great football played by the 'Pararoos' from Australia. Just after the first 15 minutes Serhii Bedenok was able to open the score, followed by Edhar Karahmanian who doubled two minutes later. 


Australia fended Ukraine off pretty well until the last ten minutes of the match, when the Europeans scored three times to set the final score to 7-0. For full statistics, check here. Rewatch the match below.

European champions Russia outplay Thailand

A well disciplined and organised Russian team secrued their first win of the competition against Thailand who are in their World Cup debut. Although Thailand showed promise and some great opportunities, the experienced Russian side took the match in their stride.

Netherlands win opener against Canada

Just after the women's national team of the Netherlands had lost the final of the World Championships in France, the Dutch boys from head coach Max Raeven took to the pitch.

In a competitive match the oranges beat a well organized Canadian team that had some opportunities to score at least two times thanks to the activity of Samuel Charron. In the first half Gerard Bambacht opened the score with a shot from way out. The Netherlands controled the match most of the time and thanks to two goals from Jeroen Saedt concluded the game.
