Iran wins third regional tournament in a row, defeating Indonesia 2-0

Goals from Amirhossein Ghorbani and Alireza Ahmadimoghadam helped Iran defend their Asia-Oceania title, winning against hosts Indonesia 2-0.

Ghorbani’s 15th-minute tap-in set Iran on its way after a great team move, with Amin Rezaei squaring to find him unmarked a yard out.

A Hassan Safari quick free-kick unlocked the Indonesian defence for the second, with Ahmadimoghadam capitalising on the lack of awareness from those in red, doubling the lead and sealing the win.

Following the match, individual awards were handed out to Indonesia’s Amin Rosyid (Golden Glove), Iran’s Moslem Mehrabian (Golden Boot) and Thailand’s Chanathip Deeman (Tournament MVP).
