Canada Advances Steadily to the Semi-Finals in the 2025 IFCPF Copa America

In the second match of the day, the young team CP Soccer US and Canada delivered a thrilling display of intensity and determination.

It was a vibrant duel that ended with a 2-1 Canadian victory, which eventually secured their place in the semi-final on Thursday, October 16, following Brazil's win over Chile.

From the very beginning, Canada showed its ambition. Samuel Charron (#5) opened the scoring in the ninth minute, with a precise finish that set the tone for the game. But the U.S. club side quickly responded and Samuel Ortiz (#9) equalised in the 17th minute, reigniting the contest and fuelling both teamsโ€™ fighting spirit.

Unshaken, Canada kept its composure and control. Once again, Charron found his moment in the second half, so that in the 37th minute, he struck with calm precision to complete his brace and restore the lead.

The 2-1 final score reflected a match played with heart and conviction. Canada celebrated not just a win, but a statement of character, proof that their journey in Punta del Este remains alive, strong and driven by the dream of glory.
