Spain and Canada entered the pitch aiming for the 9th position of the World Cup. The Canadians had more the ball possession, hit the bar two times in the first half and almost was not threatened by the home team. In the second half, Spain got better and balanced the match, while Canada was trying to score in counter-attacks. The goal scored by Yuri Costa, number 11, sealed the win by 1-0, and made Canada finish 9th in the competition. Spain finished 10th.
