IFCPF Confirms Disciplinary Outcomes to Strengthen Integrity of CP Football
NewsThe International Federation of CP Football (IFCPF) has today confirmed the conclusion of disciplinary and compliance processes involving the CP Football programmes of Iran, Brazil, and Ukraine, following investigations conducted in line with IFCPF regulations and international classification standards.
The outcomes, which have been formally communicated to each federation, include sanctions and mandatory corrective measures designed to strengthen the integrity of classification, ensure fair competition, and uphold the rights of eligible athletes.
Commitment to Clean and Fair Sport
IFCPF’s actions are grounded in a clear principle: all players deserve a clean, fair, and credible sport. Classification integrity is fundamental to CP Football, ensuring that competition outcomes are determined by skill, preparation, and performance, not by manipulation or misrepresentation.
In each case, IFCPF followed due process, reviewed evidence, and applied proportionate sanctions alongside conditions aimed at reform, education, and long-term compliance.
Confirmed Disciplinary Outcomes
Following the conclusion of IFCPF’s disciplinary and compliance processes, the following outcomes have been confirmed:
• Iran CP Football Programme
The Iran CP Football programme has been suspended from IFCPF competition for a period of one year, effective immediately. The suspension is accompanied by mandatory corrective conditions, including governance review, education requirements, reclassification of players, and enhanced IFCPF oversight prior to any return to competition. Previous sanctions issued in August 2025 will also remain in place.
• Ukraine CP Football Programme
The Ukraine CP Football programme has been placed under a three-year conditional suspension. Ukraine may continue to participate in IFCPF competitions only if all prescribed compliance, education, documentation, and monitoring conditions are met and maintained. Failure to comply will result in a full suspension being imposed.
• Brazilian CP Football Programme (ANDE)
The Brazilian CP Football programme has been placed under a three-year conditional suspension, effective immediately. Continued participation is subject to strict compliance with mandated reforms, including governance audits, player education, reclassification requirements, and unannounced IFCPF monitoring.
These outcomes reflect the specific findings of each investigation and are intended to address identified breaches while supporting long-term reform and compliance.
Athlete-Centred Integrity
“Classification integrity is not negotiable — fair competition only exists when the system is trusted,” said IFCPF CEO Ashley Hammond.
“Our responsibility is first and foremost to the athletes who compete honestly and deserve a level playing field. These decisions reflect IFCPF’s commitment to fair competition, robust governance, and a system that strengthens trust and fairness for clean athletes above all else.”
IFCPF recognises that the majority of athletes and staff across its global community compete with integrity. The federation’s approach balances enforcement with education, ensuring that all member nations understand their obligations and the consequences of non-compliance.
Ongoing Oversight
IFCPF will continue to monitor compliance closely and reserves the right to extend investigations or impose further sanctions should additional breaches be identified or conditions not be met.
Through consistent enforcement of its regulations and alignment with international best practice, IFCPF remains committed to delivering a credible, transparent, and athlete-centred sport.
