Argentina - Ireland

The opening placement match of the day between Argentina and Ireland was lively, with pride on the line. Irelandโ€™s organized play gave Dillon Sherindan his fourth goal of the competition. Irelandโ€™s aggressive play resulted in Peter Cotter getting a yellow card for his team. They kept up the pressure on the Argentineโ€™s and Sherindan scored his fifth of the tournament to lead all scorers in goals.

The second half saw Argentina came out more aggressively, but soon resulted in Mariano Morana get a red card to leave their side down a player for the rest of the match. Ireland was unable to convert their shot on goal, but a few minutes later Gary Messett scored to bring the score to 0-3. Despite being down, the Argentines were able to get a number of scoring opportunities and press on the offense. The Irish side were unlucky with the score ending at 0-3 because they had a number of shots bounce off the goalposts and out instead of in.
