The new IFCPF Classification Rules for CP Football were implemented from January 2018, which include new sport classes and classification methods. Four initiatives have been started in 2018 to recruit, educate and train classifiers at all levels of the sport:
Re-Certification of Classifiers
A re-certification workshop with the existing international classifiers before every competition sanctioned by IFCPF.
Classifier Recruitment & Training
Conducting training at all Regional Championships competitions in 2018, is helping to recruit and educate new classifiers across all regions. Classifiers attending this training receive a bursary from IFCPF to support their development and make education opportunities more accessible to all.
Meetings with national classifiers, coaches, members ́ representatives and athletes ́ representatives about the application of the new classification rules, receiving feedback for future actions.
Our partnerships with universities are also ensuring that sport and classification knowledge is embedded into Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation and Adapted Sport degree education to support our links with future medical and sport professionals.
IFCPF will shortly be launching an online level 1 Classification Course. This method of education gives anyone the opportunity to start their personal development in CP Football classification and helps the application of the new classification rules at national level.
